SMBB - Swimmers Code of Conduct

 

I,_____________________________  as a member of St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers, am part of a swimming organization that believes teamwork, integrity, respect and good sportsmanship are more important than winning. By signing this Code of Conduct, I agree to follow the rules for behavior and sportsmanship while I am a member of the St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers.

1.  I promise to show respect and common courtesies at all times to the team members, coaches, competitors, officials, parents, and for all facilities and other property used during practice and/or competition. 

2.  I promise to demonstrate good sportsmanship during all practices, competitions and team activities. 

3.  I will come to team sponsored events in the appropriate attire. 

4.  I will respect the coaches and officials instructions and will make every effort to be on time for workouts, competitions, and team events. 

5.  I will not use alcohol, tobacco, drugs, other prohibited substances, violence, defamatory, or foul language, inappropriate conduct or any other behavior deemed dishonest, discourteous, offensive or disrespectful of others. 

The undersigned athlete participating with/for the St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers agrees to abide by the guidelines outlined above in addition to those established by the staff.  Any additional guidelines regarding conduct will be presented at the first team meeting. 


VIOLATION OF THE CODE 

The coaches and Team Executive have the power to impose the following penalties for violation of the St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers Code of Conduct. The penalties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

1.  The swimmer will forfeit his or her privilege of participating in future team events. 

2.  The swimmer will be sent home immediately at his/her own expense with travel arrangements to be made by his/her parents. 

3.  The St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers Executive is responsible for reviewing any and all alleged violations of the Code of Conduct and for determining if any further disciplinary action is to be taken. 

 

I agree that if I violate any of these rules, I will be subject to disciplinary action determined by the coaches, my parents and the St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers Executive. I have read and understand the St. Margaret’s Bay Breakers Swimmer Code of Conduct and have reviewed it with my parent(s) or guardian before I agreed to it.
